I believe this has been mentioned before.  You can manually mount the 
runnix partion.  Also, current versions of AstLinux include the 
dosfslabel command which will allow you to label the RUNNIX partition.

mount -t vfat /dev/hda1 /oldroot/cdrom

Then either manually place the new .run files into the 'os' directory or 
copy the upgrade-run-image script into a temporary location.

Having said that, I would be very hesitant to do the upgrade unless 
there is someone who can be available on-site for some manual 
intervention if needed after the upgrade.
