Hello everybody I am using Astlinux 0.7.5 for quite some time now and I am very happy with it. I would like to say thanks for all your great work.
I am now wondering if I should update to asterisk 1.8. I heard that it supports TCP connections which seem to reduce battery power consumption on mobile clients very much. At the moment I am thus using pbxes.com as an intermediary, but would be very happy if I could connect directly to astlinux. So, I do have two questions. First, does astlinux with asterisk 1.8.3 support TCP connections? And secondly, is an upgrade from asterisk 1.4 to 1.8 very difficult or is 1.8 backward compatible?
