I ended up writing my own phone provisioning program in PHP that when a new
phone boots up it asks for the extension number and then provisions that
phone..  we also have our own web interface that creates phone files..  my
biggest issue is it seems some parameters sent on the fly to aastra phones
take, and others you have to reset the phone.. its inconsistent..  ive been
able to change the SIP dialplan at times..  but yet I cant always add a BLF on
the fly...

The problem is, everybody uses different phones. That can be a big amount of
work to support many types of phones.
If you have suggestions, let's talk about that on the astlinux-dev list.
