Thank you David, it did finally preload (I know that because it didn't throw a preload error like majority of the time), but what I get is:
m...@dojo:~/Downloads$ LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib32/libv4l/v4l2convert.so skype Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "atk-bridge": /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/modules/libatk-bridge.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "atk-bridge": /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/modules/libatk-bridge.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 libv4l2: error setting pixformat: Device or resource busy libv4l2: error setting pixformat: Device or resource busy libv4l2: error setting pixformat: Device or resource busy [...] On the margin, check this out... how is it possible, that if I want a fresh install of libv4l and I removed it from Ubuntu Software Center before installing, again it removed half of my system though it prompted it would just remove a few livb4l packages. Pidgin inclusive :/ This really sucks.. I don't want to sound childish, but webcam drivers (both on my previous HP TX1320 and now on ASUS UL30VT), after ~6 years of Ubuntu usage, makes me think I'm in really deep sh* :( I install windows whenever I want my family to see me on skype ;< Thanks again David, really appreciate. I've sent the logs to Hans, maybe he'll be able to help. I think I broke something related to the webcam itself - when it showed a flipped image before, now it shows nothing..
