I mean that the ath5k driver doesn't do anything wrong by desiring to
have a "wlanN" name with a minimal N.  There is nothing that could be
fixed in ath5k.  We are discussing fixed to ath5k here.

The naming is done in userspace by udev or ifrename.  Its specific to
your distribution and should be discussed in a forum specific to your
distribution.
