Hello, everyone.

Are there any known issues with older Atheros cards trying to
authenticate with wpa_supplicant?

I have a Cisco/Linksys WRT320N that goes 802.11 abgn and is dual band. With
wpa_supplicant configured for that AP, it authenticates fine with the
newer Atheros
radio in my laptop which is a b/g radio. Using a Linksys WPC55AG (802.11abg)
card works fine with the same configuration. It also works with that same card
when set to 5GHz. But, an older Intel Pro/Wireless 5000 card (802.11a) can't
seem to authenticate.

Here's some of what's in the logs about those cards. If anything else would be
helpful, I'd be glad to look it up.

WPC55AG reports:
ath5k phy11: Atheros AR5212 chip found (MAC: 0x56, PHY: 0x41)
ath5k phy11: RF5111 5GHz radio found (0x17)
ath5k phy11: RF2111 2GHz radio found (0x23)

The Intel PRO/Wireless 5000 card says:
ath5k phy15: Atheros AR5210 chip found (MAC: 0x5, PHY: 0x3)
ath5k phy15: RF5110 5GHz radio found (0x3)

While the built in wireless is:
ath5k 0000:02:00.0: registered as 'phy0'
ath5k phy0: Atheros AR5414 chip found (MAC: 0xa0, PHY: 0x61)

Any suggestions or questions?

Cheers,
David
