It's simpler than that. "Bijou" is (or was, in the days before large
chains of multi-screen movie theaters) a common name for a movie
theater in the United States, so naming my MythTV box's hostname after
it seemed appropriate.

Yes, downgrading is also always safe; I never make any incompatible
changes to the protocol or schema.
