I think you are out of luck here. The stable magit version on https://stable.melpa.org/#/magit requires at least Emacs 28.1 and it seems you cannot download older versions there. In addition, Magit has many dependencies which you would also have to get somehow in the right version that works with your emacs version and the version of magit you are trying to use. That sounds much more complicated than trying to install a current emacs version instead and then be able to use up-to-date packages... Bye, Tassilo
