It never worked to begin with. The only thing it was good for was crashing your player. The mpg123 distribution as used by audacious is legally encumbered and thus cannot be considered free software. We switched to madplug as it has a more correct decoding curve and do not intend to ever switch back to mpg123. Additionally, mpg123 has several security holes that have put us in a position where we do not wish to audit the decoder. So we removed it. While I sympathise with your needs for such a feature, I cannot in good faith provide an mpg123-based decoder that has been updated to the new callback-based API that Audacious 1.3 and later use for the reasons above. Moreover, mad is a superior decoding engine for most users. Additionally, you are the first one to mention that it has been removed. As such, I'm going to assume that nobody found it useful enough anyway. > > On 6/23/07, Kiyoshi Aman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >> On 6/22/07, E. M. While that config setting still presently exists in the master hg repo, it does not have any effect. - nenolod _______________________________________________ Audacious mailing list [email protected] http://mail.atheme.org/mailman/listinfo/audacious
