It's better but still leaves it ambiguous if anything is different when 
you copy and paste, or when you delete instead of cut.  

"Pasting audio in or to the left of a clip" reads a bit odd, because 
pasting audio in a clip is also a paste to the left of the other clips. 

It may be preferable not to mention changes in track length because  
track length will still change with this option on if you paste in the 
final clip. 

Here is my suggestion:


 "Editing a clip can move other clips: If the track has been split into
   more than one [[Audacity Tracks and Clips|clip]], this ensures that
   [[Edit_Menu#paste|pasting]] audio in or between a clip can always
   move the clips to right of the paste if there is not sufficient room 
   to fit the additional audio. 

   Unchecking this option pins clips so that they can't move in response
   to an edit in another clip. A cut or delete will affect the clip(s) being
   edited, but any clips to right of the removed audio will not be allowed
   to move back. When pasting, an error message will display if there is
   not enough room to paste without moving the clips to right of the paste.
