Vaughan,
AFAICT the manual is almost ready. It has one remaining P1 which
pertains to the version of FFmpeg required for 2.0.6.

So Gale is/was confident this will be fixed in time
But at the time of writing this I am still waiting to see a sensible place to
download the correct FFmpeg - and a sensible place that we can direct
our users to download from.
The site that was provided earlier for testing requires one to download
7z (unzipper) to access the FFmpeg - and I decline to do that (and many
of our users will decline too) as the Sourceforge download page for 7z
download is littered with masses of misleading "Big Green Buttons".
So what we need is a sensible safeish place that we can download the
requisite FFmpeg 2.2.2 with WinZip (which we use for our normal
downloads of Audacity).
Until that happens I cannot test and I cannot fix that Manual page - and
without that fix we would have a regression as I have FFmpeg working
happily on 2.0.5 but inaccessible in 2.0.6.
My understanding is that Gale is happy that FFmpeg 2.2.2 works ok
with 2.0.6 - the issue outstanding is where and how we host the download.
Peter.

We've been in GUI/string freeze for about 48 hours.
I'm very happy to see several translations have come in (6, I think).
Are any translators planning to offer further updates? (And I know Min
Zhang has a pending question, so that will probably mean another revision.)
Manual Authors, please let me know when that's all ready, too.
Looking for when I can declare code/manual freeze (step 9 at
http://vjohnson.users.sourceforge.net/Audacity_2.0.6_release_agenda.pdf).
Thanks!
- Vaughan
