Hello Dmitry,

I was just ready to resume the translation in Corsican of Audacity 4 when I realized that I was a little bit late regarding its release date planned on August 24th!

But when checking the files on Transifex, I noticed that Audacity 4 translation is ONLY completed at 44.91% whereas Audacity 3 was 100% completed. I'm just afraid of seing that 2093 strings are still waiting for translation!

I also noticed that some of the strings waiting for translation are very similar to previous strings in Audacity 3 but differ regarding: the case, the place of & sign, or the trailing ellipsis … sign.

1- Did you experience such a thing for other languages?

2- Do you have some tips/tools to populate - or help populating - the missing translations? Or is it up to the translators to cope with that?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,
Patriccollu.

Hello dear translators,

We are getting closer to Audacity 4 release date and the string freeze date is set to August 24.

For Audacity 4 we will be accepting translations only via Transifex. All existing matching strings from Audacity 3 were reused in Audacity 4, as well as translators' attributions, but if anything is missing, please let us know.

Transifex could be used in two ways:
- You can translate strings directly from the web ui. It is convenient for small fixes or if you don't want to use any external software - You can download and upload translation files locally and use your software of choice.

With Audacity 4, we moved to the Qt translation system, it uses .ts files instead of .po files of Audacity 3. This means that some applications used for translating Audacity 3 will not be compatible. In such a case, you can use Poedit, QtTranslator, or Transifex Web UI.

To register a transifex account with your personal email and join the project, please use this link: https://explore.transifex.com/audacity/audacity/

Thank you very much!
