Stereo mix is available *only* if your audio hardware manufacturer implements it in their device drivers; in your case, it probably isn't available unless you're missing a driver. On windows 7, you probably need virtual audio cable or similar, and depending on your computer skill you ma have difficulty figuring out how it works-they do stereo mix, sure, but they do a lot of other stuff too.
