That's weird. To be fair, I've only done it with an iPhone, but I don't see why it wouldn't work on an iPod touch. It's supposed to be able to, so that's an odd thing. I can't do it right now, because mine is out for repair, but when I get it back, I'll try it on my iPod and see what happens.
