Well you can check the Eamon blog for instructions about lynux, since i believe someone had ideas of that.
if you have windows 7 pro you can get a virtual xp from microsoft, though I don't know a lot about that option (why I am still on xp myself).

keep in mind, although the solution in that article in the above link is
recommended by microsoft, its quite a risky solution none the less.
for those running win 7 pro or newer, you do have the free win xp vm that
microsofts' made available:

. And of course, its the "32" bit version of XP only. As Microsoft says in the FAQ
for Windows XP Mode, this virtual XP was aimed at business people, not
consumers.
