Re: Connecting developers and game testers

moshverhavikk said, "First off, what kind of games or storylines are you sick of playing?"

Though we've had many new games released, they're mostly relatively simple sidescrollers or action games. Most audiogame development teams typically consist of 1 to a few members, which means they don't have the resources to create something of equivalent complexity to say, something released in the 1990s (e.g, civilization). On a slight tangent, it would help if game engines (e.g, unity or unreal) were accessible for blind developers and made it easier to create accessible games.

I'd love to see complex strategy (turn-based or realtime) and rpgs like final fantasy.

moshverhavikk said, "What game do you think has the best menu system and user interface?"

I think that's highly genre specific; how would you define best? in terms of whi ch is most accessible? Audiogames are typically keyboard driven (with some that do make use of the mouse like Aprone's swamp). Menus are typically lists you scroll through with the arrow keys; pressing the arrow key tells you the new option that you're on.

moshverhavikk said, "What's your favorite platform to play on?"

Windows

moshverhavikk said, "Do you like games that have a lot of text or voice acting?"

Voice acting would be great but is expensive, so i'd be pretty happy with the use of synthesized speech to read out text.

moshverhavikk said, "One last thing, I won't stand in your way if you want to work for free, but I honestly believe you should be paid for your work. Your insight will help them understand blind-accessibility and allow them to attack bugs and programming missteps faster. Plus, you might help them create a more successful Kickstarter, and if they do things right when seeking funding , they should have a budget for testing."

I'd be happy to work for free (we're starved for games, so most of us would be) but i wouldn't say no to being paid either.
