Re: VGStorm Presents Manamon, a new fully featured RPG!

Muhammad, grab the latest version, that was fixed.

So I've played up to the end of the demo now, and now have to make the decision of whether or not to drop the money on it. Life's too short to worry about silly things, so I probably will.

Potential spoilers below:

While standing in front of the second leader, my team consists of:
Bulpine, level 24
Eagawk (transformed Eagala) level 22
Finaut (water type thing from east of hazeldale) level 23
Bombusect (transformed from Cacone, insect/undead) level 22
Skirial (transformed from wormar and globular) level 22
Manja (fighting/shadow type from tunnels) level 22

Yes, I have 2 insect types lol. I was too curious about what Cacone turned into to let it go, even if it sucked sometimes, although once it learned Fang Drain it did a pretty good job keeping itself alive while doing damage to the large number of insect weak mons early in the game.
I have no idea which air or water type would've been better, so I just went with these. Hadn't read about anyone trying finaut, so maybe it'll turn into something nice. As it stands it's not too bad, and it came with a water move better than Bubble. Can't complain, especially with Splash which isn't useless this time!
Manja was almost an accidental add. It took me a while to figure out where to go when I first got dragged into the tunnel, and well, I caught some mons in there, then just knocked around the wild mons while I was looking for a way out. Since most of them are weak to fighting, Manja kind of got ahead of the rest of the gang and when I finally got my own back, I dropped one of my weaker ones for him, he was too fun to let go of.
I have a feeling Skirial will be a staple on early game teams. Compared to the early game bugs in the main games, Wormar isn't actually too bad (I'm going to assume this is because he has actual attacks of his types that aren't like 20 power, and as said earlier, a lot of early mons are weak to them), which means he isn't too much of a bother to level up. And once he hits level 15, transforms and gets Wind Force, oh boy. That is devastating nuclear destruction for that level. If anyone is struggling with the early game, I recommend picking up one of these, even if you don't want to use it for the whole game, he will get you started until you can round out your team with some better stuff later.

Definitely enjoying the higher difficulty compared to Pokémon, and if Jayde's posts are anything to go by, it's only going to get tougher! I find that especially early on, a lot of things you can catch are pretty frail and don't have great ways to do damage (the shadow kitten, for example, doesn't get a move of his own type for a bit), but once I got to around the village, my team started to fill itself in a bit. I was pleasantly surprised when my bird learned battered branch!
Also like how unlike most of the Pokémon games, your starter isn't either an automatic win condition or totally useless against the first leader depending on whom you pick. Actually, all 3 of them seem to be pretty bad, with Leafox being the only one who isn't completely annihilated. So no matter who you pick, you have to train up at least one other mon if you want to stand a chance, unlike other games where some starters gave you a far easier time than others.

Right, I think that's all the musings I had for now, will pop in again if I decide to buy this andI continue.
