Thanks for the responses. I will think about using inform or tads although I wanted to give adrift a try. Is adrift four accessible? I haven't really put it through it's paces but it seems accessible enough so far. I looked at the menu to create rooms, objects, things like that. I thought adrift 4 was still a paid version but if it's free I'd be happy working with it. Thanks again!
