Re: VGStorm Presents Manamon, a new fully featured RPG!
Righto, so a few things here:
Peach, the idea is to just avoid the speed-downs and try to work your way northwestish, then north, then eventually a bit east, and then south. It's a little tight but you should be able to manage as long as you don't get slowed down too much. Good luck on the stadium, by the way. I didn't find that one very hard.
I do wish the mythicals had slightly better abilities, but the ones they do have aren't bad. Their stats are also pretty nice, although the flame mythical is surprisingly tanky. Most flame types just want to murder you. Haha.
So, I fiddled around, caught a few more mons and now have a quote-unquote final team I'm going to trade for in a new file when I start the guide. My new team is as follows (slight
spoilers):
Dussocket: Already transformed. And the bugger learned Oblivion Slash. At level 1! None of his stats are absolutely tip--top but I was breeding for awhile when I got him, and I s
ettled on slightly above-average in everything.
Tarba: I got a really lucky breed my second or third try. Water-sound type. Would you believe this manamon starts out with freaking Earthquake at level 1?
Domestress: Another lucky breed. I'm not a hundred percent sure how viable she is, but she looks average-ish, plus she can potentially shut stuff down with her ability. Plus she learns Power Pacify (another move I'd never seen before) somewhere in the mid-30s, which is attack -2 and special attack -2 at the same time. Very nice for neutering big damage threats, if she can survive. She does get Inner Healing too.
Sheepit: Will evolve into Lamgurk, and I'm dubious about this one. I just hope its moves play out to its stats. I don't remember this guy actually getting a ground move. Maybe he will as a Lamgurk. I sure hope so.
Elvond: I have high hopes for this one. I know it gets Inner Healing and Magic Wave, and if memory serves it's also ver
y tanky, kinda like Mondevol but with no electric type.
Hydrake: Yeah yeah, I know, I've already got water and sound covered...but I just couldn't pass this one up. Got a perfect special attack stat, and nothing is terrible except (maybe?) attack, I misremember at the moment. He'll get Drench and Power Leaf later, which are both special, so he might be good. I was really hung up between this guy and Guerrerril, and I took Hydrake because I don't have a ton of flying resistance and Guerrerril gets utterly wrecked by it (being fighting-plant makes that a lot bigger an issue).
I also got smart. Of the six mons on the team, one is holding an EXP Pal so I can have it early for some levelling fun, one is holding my gammanet so I'll have two next playthrough, and the other four are holding life tonics just in case I want to demo something else in this new file - which, let's be honest, I probably will - and don't want to train it to death.
So yeah. I'm all ready to trade my manamon over to someone I can trust, play the game up till the first stadium, then get 'em back. They're all at level 1, and it will be neat building the team and seeing how it shapes up. I have especially high hopes for Tarba, since they seem to have enormous HP without the Snowmonno syndrome of terrible defenses (though their defenses aren't exactly sky-high either).
Anyway, that's enough of a ramble out of me.
