Re: What Happened To Malinche Entertainment?
There was an article on the malinch blog in 2014 where Howard Sherman essentially threw a great big strop, saying that while he made games nobody wanted to pay for interactive fiction and blind players all needed too much tech support and how the world hated him.
Of course the fact that he was charging 49 usd per game for something which is mostly available for free and that his games, while undoubtedly good weren't actually too much out of the ordinary even as far as if goes as compared to something like Hadian lands (which still retails as a tenth of the price), wasn't a matter he considered.
At that point he still did say the games would be on sale and the demos available even if he wasn't making any more, but that obviously changed.
As I recall, his stuff wasn't bad, but wasn't exceptional either, indeed if you've played the pentori prequal you've probably got an idea of the type of thing he writes.
