Guitarman, the demos are completely independent of the full versions. Security is not one of the components of inform, at least not that I'm aware of. Infocom games were on diskettes sold before the internet was used, so either you had them or you didn't, no security involved. If you remember World of Darkness from Dreamtech, when you registered the game, it asked you to create a save file before the registration machine disappeared. This is because it was not a hardcoded registration system, all it was was an interactable object that allowed complete access to the game. Malinch games, however, don't have some registration machine in the first room, so no registration system of any sort is built in. It's either you have the demo, or you have the full version.
