Re: Fixing a cane? Help!!!

The way I'd do it is remove enough sections of the cane to expose the elastic cord. Then attach a piece of wire hanger bent into a hook that fis inside the cane sections to the elastic cord. Be sure your wire hook is longer than the cane sections. Now using the wire hook pull the elastic cord through each section of the cane as you reassemble it. Finally attach the new tip to the elastic cord, and remove your wire hook.

When I change the tip on my cane, I hook the new tip onto the elastic cord before I remove the old tip. Doing it this way eliminates the possibility of losing the cord down the cane.
