Harddrive is preferable, just keep an external SSD and do regular backups. Something people don't think about is that cloud services are subject to DMCA, so they'll scan the words and contents of whatever you upload against a central database and block it if it matches. I had this happen with my Audiocraft prototype with Goodle Drive which was called audio_minecraft at the time, dispite the fact that it had nothing to do with minecraft proper other than the name.
