I don't think the CVAA will be as amazing as people think...because people and lawyers are involved. And the gaming industry HATES regulation. Look at he ESRB and why that was formed, precisely, to avoid government regulation. Look at how hard EA are lobbying to not have lootboxes classfied as gam bling, and look how hard they are fighting and putting pressure on people for what is best for EA.
Lootboxes going away hurts their bottom line. ALl it takes is one or two EA shareholders to say, mistakenly or not 'but this CVAA thing hurts our investment'....and EA will listen to the shareholders at least. Or 2K, or Acti/Blizz, or whoever.....because big firms pay way more atention to their bottom line and shareholders....than the government. EA has been fighting tooth and nail so they don't lose money if and when lootboxes are eventually outlawed. I can se them fighting tooth and nail to water down the CVAA if it starts affecting their botom line as well. Same for any huge company. That's simply busines sense 101. You protect your income first....and wory about the people after that.
