Re: CVAA Accessibility Rules Now In Effect
Ethin is right though. NDA are tricky things. Depending on how exactly the NDA is set up, you can't even say something is coverred by an NDA though. That depnds, naturally, on the exact terms which are...yeah, part of said NDA. I was under one, and thankfully it's ended but it was extremly strict about what I could say. I couldn't even say yes, I'm involved with game X for company Y or Z, or even confirm or deny the company was working on a game. THe fact said game was being marketed though sort of mitigated that. I do think work is going on....but again, I doubt it'll be as wonderful as everybody thinks once lawyers and big companies with a sole interest in shareholders get through it and the FCC finishes 'adjusting' the CVAA though. THe FCC isn't exactly a shining example of innocence or purity after all, they've not had a spotless past and I doubt the CVAA will work exactly as people want....because....lawyers, big business and lobying power to 'change' the CVAA to better suit what big interests want.
Yes. I'm cynical but I get how big business works. If 2K decide the CVAA is hurting their profits too much, they'll spend cash lobbying to have the bits they don't like changed to their liking and make up bullshit to justify it. See the FCC and net neutrality for a recent example of how well the FCC bends to lobbyists. And how they ignore a complete other side.
