interesting. and yes that does make sense. But still, I bet the decTalk express could generate tones, and touch tones, because those would be generated as part of the decTalk express hardware box itself, just requiring that you sent it the propper command to generate a tone in hertz, and its duration in milliseconds. same with dialing phone numbers and singing.
