Paladin of the Sky tips for beginners

SO, as the subject line says. Any tips, tricks, suggestions are welcome. RIght now I'm playing in Kelly's dream, or at least I was; she's a glass tank--lots of health and strength but defense is so poor that the health only prolongs the inevitable. And energy burst is truly weak. So, in short, her ex bf turned mad emperor utterly destroyed her.
