Just wanted to chime in briefly here, and say that I also understand why Aaron went the route he did initially. When you write a game it is definitely important to consider what means of output people may want to use, no question about it. But it very much depends on the style of game. If you can get away with never synchronizing game events with the end of speech, which is impossible with a screen reader, that's all good and you can be on your way. But if this is somehow integral to how the game is supposed to operate, you have a severe handicap from a design perspective and you have to find workarounds. You cannot control the flow of the game enough, basically. Does this mean that I think screen reader support should never be added? Absolutely not. And I think that Manamon including it is a good thing. But the headache to get there is something that every developer has to consider, and weigh the pros of letting the user choose their own output means versus the cons of losing a lot of control over the final experience.
