@Dark I am not sure what the Steam bootstrapper is, I haven't come across that.
the difference between steam and a regular installer is you actually do not need to keep that window open, but you have to go through it until it says finish. Clicking finish will mean that the game will download in the background, and the system tray should show Steam, the download speed and the percentage from that point. If it says Steam and nothing, then it means that the game might be downloaded already.
