Please close this topic. There is no reason for it to be open. The only purpose it had was to announce Sam's departure from the forum and for folks to wish him well, not for a complete flame war to break out. I can't help but wonder if Sam had a point. The community at large is not responsible for his depression, but the toxicity which seems to increase every time Ultrapower, Redspot or the Killer is mentioned is completely ridiculous and it's getting old.
To those of you who have nothing better to do than create drama and attack people, look at yourself. Take a big, long look at yourself, and ask yourself this question: Is it worth it? Is it worth flaming this person? Is it worth picking the scab that is cloning/ultrapower/rs/tk and bringing this drama to the surface once again?
Mason had a good idea. He wanted to bring back Ultrapower, a game that several people enjoyed, just so those who once enjoyed it at one point can enjoy it once more, and so those who never got a chance to play it can see what the game was like. He had no plans of updating it, or doing anything with it; he just wanted to host an ultrapower server (which would perhaps prevent people from playing cloned versions of it.) He made an honest mistake; he had forgotten he sold the rights to Sam, and realized he couldn't bring it back.
I don't know whose idea it was to start all this drama again, but such things tend to happen when games like UP are brought up.
