You craft by having your crafting skills. They give you the materials to craft stuff.. For example, if you wanted to make medicines you would use the alchemy skill to create medicine material. Once you've created the materials to make what you want, go to the master of whichever profession you're crafting for, and follow the instructions for which other materials you'll need to craft your chosen item. Note that crafting skills cost a lot of gold, so find ways to keep a lot of it on hand.
