@16, it may be a good idea to hold off on plans for reapplying to Apple until you have gained some experience elsewhere. I'd recommend looking into Indeed or Monster. I'm not the biggest advocate for job-posting boards, but I wouldn't discount them as options, either.
Agreed with @14 and @17 regarding grammar and spelling. In general, good grammar and spelling set you apart from a decent portion of candidates who are not versed in those mechanics.
If you are enrolled in a university, take advantage of internship opportunities. Otherwise, look for volunteer work.
Another factor at play here is level of education; a college education is still largely a luxury more than it is a viable option for most folks. I'm not too familiar with potential tracks for those who are not working towards a bachelors degree, so perhaps somebody can speak from that type of experience.
