Oh but think of the several minutes of clip clop clip clop you'd miss out on without any reason to walk all that way to get between those places. I realize I'm being dumb here, but I ate the gold and took the loss to Piere just so I wouldn't have to clip clop clip clop all the way back to that teleporter.
