First of all, props to you for making a topic with an "Urgent!" in the title that's actually urgent... LOL
Second of all, don't rely on the online community. Try hard to find vocational rehabilitation centers near by, and do not hesitate to call more generalized assistance programs that could refer you to their more specialized sisters if needed.
They may be called just that, (Voc Rehab) or they could also be called commissions for the blind, disability resource centers, ETC, and could also be connected to places that run programs for veterans, seniors, or unemployment assistance.
Just, try to find something that applies to you the most, so that you don't have to waste time getting referred back and forth.
Other options include reaching out to your local Lion's or rotary club and other such community centers, local churches, or contacting the NFB, AFb, or ACB directly.
I suggest writing down exactly what you need so you can easily quote it back and not forget it (people who know what they want are easier to serve) and when ever possible, use the phone rather than emails and don't wait for them to call you back if they are taking longer than what you think is reasonable, even if you have to use direct extensions and leave voicemails.
Inform anyone who may pick up the phone in your absents how important this is and that you want them to write it all down if possible, and if you need a ride somewhere, swallow your pride and work through the awkwardness to get what you need, even if it's the pastor's sister or that teacher you got along with in high school.
Your trying to do the right thing and move your life forward by going to school, they will understand. It's much easier to help someone when they've given you a show of faith by helping them selves as well.
The worst thing to do (though it's easy as hell to fall into) is to start believing that this problem is unsolvable or will eventually fix it's self, and start dragging your feet.
It's vital that you be on top of things if you want anything to change. You may need to fake being more outgoing than usual, or even insist in a somewhat aggressive manner. You may need to go over people's heads and ignore your feelings or have multiple cases open with different agencies so that who ever can get you what you need the fastest and best will rise to the top. You can always apologize and cancel the extras later, but you can't afford to miss out, and most will forget about the inconvenience within the week anyway.
I wish you the best of luck and I feel for you. Stick in there and remember, this could be one of the most important moments in your life, and it's well worth fighting for and possibly annoying a few people over.
There are people in positions of power who would much rather you just give up and make it easier for them. Don't let them win, just throw it back in their faces instead. But try not to forget that the middlemen have just as little power as you do and most wish they could help everyone, so treat them accordingly and they will likely reward it with more attention and advocacy on your behalf!
