@mastodont you're playing with hardcore mode on? Not really the best choice for the first playthrough, imo.
I'm terrible at those puzzles, so can't give you any tips here. But if you can't figure it out, you should hopefully be able to skip the stealth minigame by turning hardcore mode off.
As for Discord, that's a shame. It's pretty much accessible now. All buttons are labeled, all menus work as they should, etc. And for the most part, it just works like a web page. So I don't think you would have much trouble with it. It's your choice, though.
