Re: Anyone Tried Citadel BBS and Groupware?
So, I know we have some newer Debian citadel admins here, and you are going to have this problem. When apt-get decides that init.d is broken and stuck in a horrible loop of doom, and complains about totally unrelated packages like checkroot and btsync, this is, in fact, citadel's fault. To fix it, edit the file
/etc/init.d/webcit
And insert the following near the top, directly under the bang path:
### BEGIN INIT INFO
# Provides: webcit
# Required-Start:
# Required-Stop:
# Default-Start: 2 3 4 5
# Default-Stop: 0 1 6
# Short-Description: Start daemon at boot time
# Description: Enable service provided by daemon.
### END INIT INFO
And then reinstall the packages that broke, and everything will be happy again. If you're interested in why, you can start with:
http://refspecs.linuxfoundation.org/LSB … sinit.html
But when apt-get is totally broken and you have no idea why, you're probably not interested in learning about LSB.
