Re: Online college destroyed my motivation, please kick me into shape
thank you Jayde. I took the assignment way out of proportion and didn't think about what skills it was enhancing, I just took it at face value. This isn't high school anymore. Each assignment is assigned for a reason, created by the instructors themselves. It really is a big transition. I will email my professor tomorrow. I can't change the grades for assignments I didn't do obviously, but I can tell her that my eyes are still being opened to college and what all it means. This was a negative experience, but on the bright side, at least it happened in my first semester. I will do my best to take the work at more than face value.
The last thing I want to say is, I haven't reached out to my instructor about missing work because it is hard to understand that although it won't change your grade, it will change what your professor thinks of you. Just because the grade is gone doesn't mean your reputation with them or their opinion of you is stuck too. Afterall, they are the ones who will determine if you fail or pass. So those emails can possibly make a difference to them. And if not, at least you practiced being responsible and you can say you tried.
