If you just want a menu-based thing that's doable with a simple select server.  You just have to make sure to send the menus and the results, not the individual keys.  It'd be hard at your skill level, but it's not hard objectively.

I won't have time and also the going rate for programmers is at least $30/hour (and I make more than that personally), but menus over the network is something you could learn to pull off in a few months of effort if you made that your goal.  I'm not judging or anything, and I don't think others are.  Getting someone who knows things you don't to help is normal, and why programmers work on teams in the first place.  But there's only 3 ways to do it.  You can work with someone at your skill level, which doesn't help if you're trying to do something hard.  You can pay someone, but that only works if you have enough money to do it, and it's not going to be cheap.  Or you can attract someone who's more skilled with your ideas, which doesn't usually work because someone more skilled who has time to help with your project is probably doing their own instead.

Audiogames.net could have more teams, but in order to do that it needs more people who can fill the role of lead programmer competently, which in practice means writing most of the engine and then bringing other people onboard because projects are almost impossible to split until they're big.  I see some evidence that maybe audiogames.net people are growing up and staying around, so perhaps that will happen one of these days.
