Re: Android? or Apple?
I am a big Android fan, because while Google is far from perfect too, at least it's easier to install roms on Android, or use mostly open source apps from FDroid. There's no iTunes, no stupid workarounds you have to go through to change your ringtone, etc. Much more open and available for playing around, basically.
But yes, Talkback is missing some of the feature Voice Over has. Keyboard input isn't as fast apparently, image recognition isn't there yet, etc. We have a more accessible Discord app though, so there's that.
If you switch to Android, you'll probably have to re-learn several things, so you have to decide if you have enough patience and curiosity.
Remember that, unlike an iPhone, you can get a cheap (if low-quality) android phone, too. So you can buy an used phone and test how this all works before making the switch for real.
