Have you got five minutes?
s you all know, I'm working on bringing together an archive of software as part of the nathantech.net website to provide blind users a resource for accessible software concerns, as well as how accessible a piece of software is.
Now, obviously, I realise at first it may be a whee bit on the small side (everything has to start somewhere though!) And as such I have compiled a list of around 50 pieces of software which I shall continue to add and when done, then open the archive to all users.
I have a bit of a request for you all though.
I am, to the best of my capabilities, either testing the software myself for accessibility or sourcing from reliable friends and close colleagues. What this means is though to do so I need, at least passing familiarity with the software in order to write up an entry that can be revised as and when my testing is complete. To that end, I was wondering if a couple of you fine folk would be able to, using the submissions page of the software archive, submit an entry for any of the following software I have yet to have had any interactions with:
reaper,
foobar 2000,
garage band
station player
winamp would be helpful too (though I admit familiarity with that even if it has been a few years!)
Of course I also welcome any other useful software you use on a daily (or even semi-regular basis) which you find accessible. The more the better, obviously!
I'm hoping to get this project at least off the ground in the next couple of weeks so any help would be appreciated!
For developers, I would also be interested in any text editors, compilers, things like that you use that you find useful. (command line has always done it for me).
