Just judging from a simple Google search that turned up reviews from top tech dogs, you're right. There doesn't seem to be any improvement despite a widespread claim that the headphones were more energy-efficient, which lead the expectation that battery life would increase. Oh well. 30 hours still isn't bad.
I think most of my excitement just comes from hope rather than expectation. I know the new model is not being branded as a revolutionized successor to the XM3's.
