I think this is very late, but Sable just recently crossed my mind again after seeing this topic bump back up, so here goes.
Would you consider adding a way for the user to change what keys do what things? For example, key_config.cfg, with things like: stats_menu=s? CAE_Jones has a BGT include for this, which can be found in Carter Temm's github repo of BGT includes. The only reason I ask this is because when I tried Sable, it more confused me than anything. Down arrow moves you forward? Up arrow moves back? Keys were everywhere, with no order it seemed like, at least to me.
