The problem is, it is answered, but I was trying to be polite about pointing that out. Go read the subprocess documentation as @2 says to do, that can run anything in the background so long as whatever it is doesn't try to open windows of its own (which youtube-dl doesn't).
Or, go read the youtube-dl source code and figure out their embedding API. Whichever.
An answer to a question doesn't mean "and here is some code". it only means that on audiogames.net.
