Re: swamp pricing discussion

Hi

Cae, yes you can still do the puzzles, 1 is on map 3 still and I believe the other is on map 4, Jeniffer's letter is still on map 3 though. Also you can indeed add title weapons to campaigns by looking at the change log for the exact names, just strip out commas and periods and such obviously. Same goes for any new armor, just make sure capatilization is correct if not, simply adjust it but I think it's almost always correct already.

Also I don't agree with the buying a Winchester and some 30 cal thing, for gaining XP fast, I mean, it's one way to do it for sure, but that way you waste reputation.

My way of doing it is to go out with your starter weapons, 1 Medkit, axe, pistol with 55 rounds, and then just use those to kill as many zombies as possible, get close to zombies when shooting and be sure of your target if you can, the closer you are the less rounds it takes because the zombie is closer and your aim is better, an d since the closer youa are to the middle of the zombie the more damage you do, it's a good way to not waste rounds, just back up while you do it so they can't get too close.

At the same time, look for loot, and use every weapon you find sparingly, if you find something good or you have extra ammo and want to come back for a heal because you didn't find enough medkits or you didn't want to waste some and you were close to the sz anyway, which is a good way to not waste kits, then just donate the weapons and ammo, since you probably won't last long enough to use them all anyway.

Unload everything before selling it, especially if you get a Vulcan or an m60 so that you can sell the ammo inside it, try not to break up ammo clips, for instance, if you have 22 rounds of 9mm left, try to only use 2 unless your really need to use more and you have other valuable stuff you don't want lost, that way you can sell all 20 rounds at once, sinc e you can't sell less than a clip, same with shotgun shells, try to keep to 12's.

Go out with your axe only after selling all your stuff, selling your Fieldkit is up to you, but you will die some anyway, unless you are really worried about your death stats, it doesn't matter at this point unless you die with a load of equipment you've found because you aren't losing anything at all.

If you get a marlin or an m40, and find some ammo either from loot or by unloading a weapon, just make every round count, those 2 weapons give you great XP, and while the winchester isn't bad either it isn't as good, also remember that there is nothing stopping you from using long range weapons at short or medium range, since you can make every one of those rounds count even more, I would only use it for thinning out swarms and be careful when you aim, taking the time you need to get the perfect shot.

I suggest using your points for s peed, not only will it keep you from going crazy with the slowness, but it will also help you in missions and with running away from swarms, you can also cover more distance, get more loot, and make more money and gain more XP faster.

When axing, make every chop count, sidestep left and right slightly, back up with single steps or a few at a time, play chicken with zombies, pay close attention in swarms to make single zombies or very small groups break off from the main group, so that they are much easier to draw out and kill on your terms, also remember to back up and keep backing up when you have made contact, which is the most important part, sidestepping here can help but not usually as much, I like to call it axe dancing, and it can be extremely powerful when done right.

If you have a more powerful weapon that uses the same ammo as another, use the ammo from that other weapon in the more powerful one, and try not to use burst fire, or waste rounds just t o hit 1 or 2 zombies, for instance, you could take the rounds from the glock 19 because you just found an mp5,and then use the more powerful mp5 on single shot as you would a pistol to get more out of each round, or taking the rounds from the Winchester to use in a Marlin, if you have allot of rounds, then load both the weaker and more powerful weapons until the rounds are needed or sold, encase one of the weapons breaks and you need a fully loaded backup in a hurry.

Find loot spots your self, and ask other players where they can be found as well, some good ones are the stores in and around, such as the pet store and hardware store, auto mart and gas station, also inside the houses and destroyed house, as well as the spaces behind and around them,  across the bridge, the church and around the church and factory, inside the upper floor of the factory, behind and around the destroyed business, behind the safe zone, and along borders and streets.

When looking for loot between buildings, along borders, or behind several buildings, try running right between the buildings and the other buildings, the buildings and the border or river, or even just the buildings and open space, so that you can catch loot on both sides, same with borders, stay a bit away, but close enough to still hear loot that's right up against the border.

Try not to use any armor that will only slow you down even more, as your biggest asset is speed at this point, especially the metal shin pads which will slow you down allot, rather sell them instead.

If you find fuel, and you aren't level 4, sell it, if you find fuel and you are level 4 and above then go on a mission, buying what you need if you don't already have it, for the weapon you use, I suggest 12 or so med kits, and about 100 ammo for rifles, 60 shells for the shotgun, 150 9mm for the mp5 or pistol, and 40 rounds for the m40, depending on the weapon you use, but this will chang e depending on the mission and number of team mates as well, especially the number of medkits, if you buy armor make sure it's light stuff like jeans and a ball cap, I suggest taking someone with you if you are going on a level 6 mission or above, and maybe even on a level 4 depending on your confidence, just like in buildings, be careful when running around corners, duck back fast, take quick looks, learn good search patterns for finding crates from other players, and be careful when it comes to windows and doors, because they will break after a while, so places you thought were safe won't always stay that way.

Places to watch out for in the big warehouse are quality control and repackaging when it comes to zombies, and after a while, upstairs and near the stairs, the southern docks, the big northern window near quality control, and the north dock near the truck.

Crates will spawn on the main floor near the stairways, between the crates, on the nor th dock way back toward the wall, or near the truck, as well as in repackaging near the big broken windows, in the break room, or in the back between the small crates, as well as on the south dock, way back on that corner at the end of the south dock, among the wreckage between the end of the big shelves and the south dock, on the dock that's on the other side of the wall from the truck that you go around to get near the south dock, inside the big steel shelves, in quality control way near the back or right hand side windows, in the middle between crates, directly to your right as you come in, upstairs between the stairways, and among the crates near  the north most side of the warehouse.

Also remember to go into each room quite a ways and check the sides of the room a bit as not to miss anything, walk near the places like the shelves and docks to not miss crates that are way back near the walls, and walk both in the middle of the main floor and on the sides as well sometimes. Try to develop a search pattern that gets all of these places.

In the small warehouse the busy spots are near the front door and front windows, and then later in storage near the windows, parts, and the bay doors on the east dock, as well as in outgoing sometimes.

Here you must be careful not to get stuck anywhere, and have an escape plan for every room you enter, be even more vigilant when looking around corners and stay back from doorways when possible as you walk past, also try to get as many crates in the start of the mission as possible and be able to turn fast to run in the other direction while using radar to find ways out.

Spots for crates are on the docks near the truck and in the corner of that dock near the truck side entrance to storage, as well as between the pallets of boxes and the managers office, or even inside the office, as well as just inside the truck side storage entrance and to the right, or way back inside the shelves, straight ahead of the entrance as well as way back in the second set of shelves at the back wall, to the left and way back, near the window next to the parts storage entrance, inside parts near the parts storage entrance, way back inside the boxes near the back corner by the windows, in the middle of parts, in outgoing among the big shelves either near the window or closer to the main floor, in the middle of outgoing, and near the manager's office side of outgoing, near the front windows, among the many boxes near the windows, on the east dock in a few locations along the dock, and in the boxes near the truck.

I hope this helps, the only reason I didn't go more into navigation was because it's covered in the guide, I suggest using your radars along walls to find openings, and tracking the beacon you used to get in with to get out of somewhere, the building helper is also useful for some people, but I would not use it on it's own.

I also didn't talk about map 2 because this is already getting long, also remember that the players are your second best resource after the documentation, they can help you find things like the shallows in brush creek near the sz to get to the other side with out the bridge, the shortcut to Kai mart through the back door at the end of isle 8 at the back of the building, the back door of Jennifer's house, etc. As well as simpler things, though reading the documentation will help you with most of those.

If anyone has questions just ask, pm me or ask on here or the swamp thread in the new releases room, I just wrote this up because I heard that some people were thinking about getting back into the game.
