Wait, what level were you? I don't remember it taking that many soulstones to raise a single ghoul at low levels. And I can usually get a setup of 3 knights, two ghouls, a familiar and a woad in under a minute or two.
Fun enough, a lot of necromancer gear doubles as mregen gear. Granted, a clay man or wode drains mana to maintain, so that might explain it.
