To that end, VBA-RR does have debug menus that can help with figuring out what's going on in memory. Unfortunately many of the would\be helpful diagnostics crash the program on my computer, so I can only ever access basic information. For instance, I can see that VRAM (for Pokemon) starts at 0x8000, but any attempt to figure out anything beyond that crashes the program.
It's unfortunate really. Having Lua as an embedded resource in the emulator is fantastic for accessible potential, but having any useful information just out of reach is so frustrating.
