@8 points taken, especially since TypeScript has advanced typing functionalities like identifying stuff by attribute content, which (correct me if i'm wrong) C++ doesn't have (last version I programmed C++ with was 14 I guess, so it might already be in or I just didn't knew about).
Camlorn is correct though, i've to deal with TypeORM myself and you won't come far without type casting. BTW, ever questioned why or how those json parser libraries are able to check your object and return the corresponding type? For you it might look like no casting at all, but the library does nothing other than casting it internally, after checking, maybe it copies over into the new object to preserve functions and such, but since you could always avoid type casting by copying things and instantiating a new object in such a situation, i'd consider this casting too in this case.
