As much as we'd like to believe there is a god there's no proof what soever about his existence. Even if he existed he doesn't seem to care about what happens to us, he left us there to do what we please and suffer the consequences.
Nobody should go through what your grand-ma is suffering. I've had family members with similar issues and it wasn't fun.
After all, the almighty god didn't even raise a finger when millions of jews were exterminated so why should he care about an old lady, or about the sick, the blind, the deaf or the cripled?
