Re: Proposed Guidelines Regarding Unauthorized Use of Copyrighted Assets
@swigjr23
The policy says, false claims are not allowed, and that would ease the investigation, since this will reduce the workload. If anyone use the stolen sounds, this could be claimed with evidences. If you look in the Golden Crayon Topic, look at Omar Alvarado's post, that should give you an example. Though I don't know how will it be investigated in detail.
I am satisfied with this policy, it can become plagiarism and copyright law, or something like that.
I have a small concern, Jack. Sometimes, it happens that developers may take sounds unknowingly that these belong to somebody else, may you please add that part to avoid confusion?
Edit:
I understand that this is the answer to this,
Please be advised that failure to address a substantiated claim in an appropriate manner will result in links to the affected game or project being removed and disallowed from the community, both within the database and on the forum. We will not forbid discussion of your project, but will simply ask that it not be supported publicly due to its status. This no-support policy will remain in effect until such time that you have eliminated all problematic elements outlined in the claim leveraged against you.
But it should work if a seprate heading is made for that, just for the sake of avoiding confusion.
