If you ever take a wrong teleporter anywhere in that area it'll just send you back to the stairs. From the stairs, first take the only teleporter, then in the new area work your way to the upper right corner and take the teleporter there, then finally take the teleporter in the lower right corner. Save your game, don't take the teleporter in that room but instead go down to fight the boss.
